+=========================-

   Welcome to the CTDB Client 1.5 !

   This program has been developed in order to allow the
   storage of all relevant data in connection with cycle
   time measuring on well defined and structured database,
   as well as to provide various web-based reporting possi-
   bilities that can be used for product line optimization
   and process monitoring.

   In this project the main workflows have been divided into the following tasks:

       - Planing data structures and forms
       - Coding tables and forms
       - Developing client application
       - Finalizing MS SQL Server-based database and making stored SQL procedures
       - Planing reports
       - Creating reporting webapplication and websites
       - Testing the client program, database communications and reporting options

|  6. System requirements   
+=========================-


   On Client Side:


     Operating system: Microsoft Windows NT, 2000 or XP

     Hard disk: with 50 MB of free space for program files is requried

     Memory: Minimum 256 MB RAM is recommended

     Software environment: Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC 2.8) has to be installed
                           on the computer (a free download)
                           Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.0 or later is neccessary
                           to make Cycle Time Reports
                         
     SQL Server Client Network Utility Settings:
     
     If you need to connect to the database and/or webserver over the intranet you have
     to use the TCP/IP protocol. Make sure that TCP/IP protocol is enabled in the Client
     Network Utility and given top priority. To run this utility, select Run from the 
     Windows Start menu and type CLICONFG. On the General Tab switch off the Force Protocol
     Encryption and enable the Shared Memory Protocol.


   On Database Server:
     
     MS SQL Server 2000 Developer Edition
 
   On Web Server:
     
     Internet Information Server (IIS v5.1 or later)
     MS Frontpage Server 2000 Extensions + Service Pack 5

|  7. Installing the program
+============================-


   CTDB Client is distributed as an installation package (setup.exe)
   Install CTDB Client by following the on-screen instructions. 
   
     1. Close all application.
     2. Double-click the setup.exe.
     3. The setup program will ask you to select options and where to install Cycle Time v1.5.
        If you are unsure, you should accept the defaults. 
     4. Once installed, you can start Cycle Time v1.5 from the Start Menu or Desktop.

|  8. Using built-in help
+============================-


   Go to the HELP menu to open HELP TOPICS: Cycle Time Database Client Help. 
   On the Help Window select the Contents tab to view the Help topics organized
   by subject of matter. You can click the icons to the left of items to collapse
   or expand outline. Click the tabs to switch among the Contents, Index and Find
   tabs. Use the Index tab to find Help topics in a linked, alphabetical list of 
   terms for various concepts. Use the Find tab to find a specific word in the Help
   document. Type the word in the text box and the result list shows the titles of
   all topic in which the searched word appears. Select a Help Topic and click
   display button.
